Do Blog Posts Need A Suitcase When Moving?

18 Feb

Dear followers,

I have had so much fun here at my very first wordpress blog. I love blogging, even though at times when life got in the way, it was difficult to keep generating blog posts. I found that I still had something to share every time and that I love connecting with you. I still do, obviously and am not going anywhere. Well, technically I am going over to my website and that makes me incredibly happy because I’ve always wanted one!

Hop on over to Author M.W. to keep reading new blog posts and learn more about me and my stories. I’m also going to add more on mysteries and I have something special planned. I’ll see you there. Don’t forget to bring snacks, I’ll bring the balloon animals.

Food For The Soul

28 Dec

Books, books, books, books, books. For a writer books are pivotal if you want your soul to survive and stay weird and writer-y, as opposed to normal. I mean, think about it, what if our souls could survive on thoughts and feelings regarding the household, shopping, and whether or not our neighbour likes us.

No, our soul needs to swim in the energy of the worlds that we read about, the beautiful words that are constructed like an intricate sculpture. Energy we need every day or our souls will slowly dwindle down to Normal.

There are so many things good for us. So many things we should do daily, like walking/exercising, meditate, hug someone, drink water, and all that kind of nonsense. Well, I’m here to tell you that reading should be on that list too. BecauseĀ if reading is on there, writing will surely follow. Trust me, I know. I’ve had the writing itch for a long time but my fingertips don’t bleed ink anymore, they’re dry. I know why. It’s because I can hardly remember the last time that I read anything other than the tests my students make. This year has been so hectic and stressful that I SHOULD have been writing my ass off, diving into other worlds and lives than my own, but the thing you really do when you get home is fall down on the sofa and find that you’re stuck to it. An invisible person has glued you to it, and that invisible person is called Stress.

Now it’s the Christmas holiday and I have a moment to breathe. More importantly, I get to read! And wow, have I missed it. Also, now the writing muscle needs training again. Why not start with a blog post? (I have missed you, Bloggy.) And after that, work on a story, no matter how rubbish I may have gotten with all that slacking off.

Then again, it really does help to remind myself, that writers don’t need to write in order to write. And any time my mind has wondered off (and it has done so often) conjuring up images of tough chicks, lonely detectives, murders, unusual people, and unexplained situations, I have been writing. I HAVE BEEN WRITING.

Happy Anniversary!

26 Mar

Okay, technically my anniversary was yesterday but you know how it goes when life is being like a drunk person who suddenly decides he likes you and hangs around you, literally. All night long. And then you have to try and make excuses until at some point you start pushing him away and someone thinks you’re being harassed and you’re trying to explain the situation, but then the drunk guy punches that person and that person punches back which starts a whole fight and before you know it the police have to call your parents to come pick you up from the station. And you’re grounded. Which is good, because then you can get some writing done.

Well, that escalated quickly. Also, I’m guessing you’re living with your parents too because you’re writers and therefore poor. Like me. Shh. Don’t burst my bubble. I need to think that or I’ll feel sad.

Brain, go back to the anniversary thing. Yes, it was my blog’s anniversary! *releases balloons and pet unicorns* Stay away from the horns unless you have a license and feel free to grab snacks and some punch. šŸ™‚ I want to let you all know how awesome you are for going along with the ride even though I’m super weird and my pet dragons sometimes eat your socks. (Yes, that was them. Sorry.) I hope to share many more blog posts to come with you guys, and look forward to your comments, likes, and how much you guys gossip when eating my virtual cookies.
Write on!
